If prayers really work, why did Katrina cause so much devistation in the first place? Millions were praying against that.
If God really existed and could do something about it, why couldn't he even protect his houses of worship - churches were leveled with the same ferocity as homes by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Those of faith and without were subject to the same suffering.
Wake up to the fantasy of belief in God and accept reason as your savior.

Dear anonymous,
don't people always pray that crisis' will be averted? that desnt mean that they always will be. perhapse a greater good is achieved when church buildings are leveled, but the church ,God's people, are not. This is a greater witness to the world, when chrisitans suffer and are not snuffed out. if God let only good things happen because people pray for them, what good would our faith be? what good is it to any person, christian or non, to be happey all the time? people learn from suffering, people become greater people for it. if only good things happened to christians, our faith would be nothng at all because it's nothing to believe in something thats only good all the time. on the contrary, chiristians are called to suffer. moreover, we are called to be rejected by the world and rejoice in it.

and, isn't it great that the same calamity fell on the non chiristians as the christians? what greater gound for witness?
